Our story

Built by two people who were tired of the way recruiting works.

Chosen didn't start with a deck or a funding round. It started with a friendship at MIT, a shared frustration with how broken recruiting is, and a bet that two people could build something better than the tools that have been letting everyone down.

Nhat Nguyen

Nhat Nguyen

Co-Founder

Nhat spent years as a Chief of Staff, wearing every hat from operations to recruiting. She lived the scheduling marathons, the resume triage Mondays, the spreadsheet exports for execs who'd glance at the chart for eight seconds. She didn't theorize about recruiting being broken — she felt it, every single day.

Ben Gutierrez

Co-Founder

Ben has been building software and working in data science for years. But he also sat on the other side of the table — applying to jobs through systems that felt like they were designed to lose people. He watched friends get ghosted by ATS black holes and wondered why the tools recruiters use are so bad at the thing they're supposed to do.

A robot painting robot and a conversation about art

They met at MIT. Ben was in his undergrad, showcasing a robot painting robot for a project demo. Nhat was doing her MBA and walked over because she was genuinely interested in painting and art. They had a long conversation and became friends. Neither of them knew they'd end up building a recruiting product together.

Two different views of the same broken system

A couple of years later, Nhat had been deep in the trenches — recruiting, operations, chief-of-staff work. She knew firsthand how tedious recruiting is. Not "kind of annoying" tedious. Soul-crushingly, mind-numbingly tedious. The scheduling alone could fill a full-time job. Meanwhile, Ben had been watching from the candidate side: applying through systems that never responded, filling out the same form for the tenth time, wondering if anyone was actually reading any of it. They both arrived at the same conclusion from opposite directions: the existing tools aren't working.

We're the little guys. We're building for the little guys.

We know we're not the legacy vendor with the big sales team and the enterprise logo wall. Good. Legacy tools get legacy results. We're two people who decided to build the product we wished existed — an ATS where AI agents handle the logistics and the recruiter stays in the decision seat. We're building for teams who are tired of paying for five tools that don't talk to each other and an ATS that's really just a database with a login screen.

If something goes wrong, we're the ones who show up

There's no "retention specialist" between you and us. No ticket queue that takes four days. The people behind this product are the same people who answer when you reach out. If you encounter something broken, we'll be the ones who drop everything to make it right. That's not a marketing line — it's a promise from two founders who take this personally.

Stop coordinating. Start recruiting.
